Calligram Project

This calligram is inspired by the movie Finding Nemo. I did not copy the calligram directly over a preexisting image (because I was having issues uploading an image and I did not know how to get rid of it after I were to finish the calligram), but I did use images of clownfish and blue tangs as references (posted down below). I drew the outlines of the fish with the pen tool, and then added the type on path tool to add the words "just keep swimming". I chose the text colors according to the colors of the fish. I also drew different shapes within the fish with the pen tool so that their  details are noted (fins, gills, patterns, etc.). I drew their eyes with the ellipse tool, one in black and a white one on top. I also used the ellipse tool to create the bubbles, filling them in with a gradient blue fill to make them look like they have some sort of dimension. I chose a blue blue background because I wanted it to resemble the ocean.

Final Portfolio

This is my final portfolio. I really enjoyed creating all sorts of unique projects on different types of software. Coming into this class, I had no experience with Adobe and editing, and now I feel pretty comfortable creating my own digital projects. I'd like to thank professor Roundtree for helping me learn and giving me feedback on my work so that I can further improve my creative works, and excel in my career path.

Toy Project

I decided to recreate myself as Hawaiian dashboard dancing hula girl. This project was difficult because it required many layers, and adjusting the image of myself to the toy was very time consuming. I used the puppet warp to adjust the skirt to my waist, and my arm. I used a second layer on top of that so that my hands could be holding the ukulele. I had expand the top of the image and blend together the sky and the mountain. I also had a hard time blending my skin tone on my right arm, and making it look smooth. Other than that I think this project was really unique and pretty fun to do.

Adobe Color Photoshop

This project took several hours to create, and it was pretty demanding considering that we had to make 6 versions of the drawing, but I really liked the end result. My favorite color palette was probably the compound shades.
